WHY STUDY IN ROME

Rome is a beautiful, vibrant and timeless city where people from all over the planet gather to share the best of many diverse backgrounds and world views. Rome's historic, artistic and cultural treasures are rich and varied.

The atmosphere of The Eternal City comes from more than its well-known landmarks.
The delicious food, the legendary sights, the long sunny days, the charming old neighborhoods, and the friendly, stylish Italian people themselves make Rome the best metropolis in the world. As an ancient city with a modern outlook, Rome is a thriving and exhilarating center of activity in the arts and entertainment. An evening at Campo de' Fiori, a stroll through the Piazza del Popolo or a visit to one of the countless art centers, musical venues or museums will delight your senses and inspire your creativity.

Rome is recognized as an indisputably wonderful city, but why go there to study dance or theatre?

Rome boasts many of the the best music conservatories in Europe and a myriad of dance and acting studios. Until now, there has yet to be a college level program, taught in English, for students seeking an academic degree that could lead to an American style career in Modern Dance, Theatre or Musical Theatre.

IPACOR™, the International Performing Arts College of Rome, was created to bring together the best that the Italian culture has to offer, with the best teachers in those disciplines, giving students the unique opportunity to gain an accredited American college degree in this magical city of art and culture.

IPACOR™ combines an International Scope with American Style and Italian Spirit to give students an unforgettable and life-changing experience, whether they are with us for a summer, a semester or four years.

IPACOR MISSION: WHO WE ARE

The mission of the International Performing Arts College of Rome (IPACOR™) is to offer College level Summer Intensive, Semester Abroad and 2 and 4 years programs in the Performing Arts in a multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary and collaborative environment where students and faculty can benefit from the crossover of their respective disciplines. We are a group of passionate artist-educators who believe in the power of the performing arts to make a difference in the world.

Our Plan

With the support of many sponsors across several countries, IPACOR™ plans to open the doors to the first group of Summer Intensive students in July 2015 and to the first group of degree-seeking student in September 2017 for the 2017-2018 school year.

  • Programs of Study

The program of study at IPACOR™ begins with credit-earning Summer Intensive in Modern Dance and Theater, and several Semester Abroad options in the same disciplines with transferable credits. Students who are not seeking a degree can also benefit from independent and continuing education courses in voice, acting, dance and other areas.

  • Degrees

IPACOR™ is on track to begin offering an Associate Degree in Fine Arts (A.F.A.) in 2017 and a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts (B.F.A) in 2019. Students will be able to choose from several concentrations such as Modern Dance, Acting, American Musical Theater and other options, as the program continues to grow and expand.

  • Faculty

Faculty is recruited from the best international and academic communities. While instruction will be conducted mainly in English, IPACOR™ will seek to honor the multi-lingual nature of artistic expression. Instructors hold M.F.A. or Ph.D. degrees and are experienced teachers, with the documented respect of their peers and colleagues.

  • Accreditation

IPACOR™ is seeking accreditation in several countries (USA, Canada, UK, Italy, etc.) to ensure that students benefit from full credit transferability and degree recognition. While accreditation is in process, IPACOR™ has arranged for credit recognition and transferability from partner institutions.
